Northern Illinois Softball Association (NISA)
The Northern Illinois Softball Association (NISA) is a recreational fast-pitch league comprised of girls’ softball programs across McHenry County. NISA’s mission is to unite local leagues under one joint association, extending each program’s philosophy of teaching, developing, and promoting the game of softball, while providing players with a stronger and more enjoyable overall experience.
NISA offers divisions for 6U, 8U, 10U, 12U, and 14U age groups. Depending on the division, teams play anywhere from 8 to 20 or more games each season. Games are played under IHSA rules, with specific league exceptions as needed.
The regular season runs during the months of May and June, followed by an end-of-season, playoff-style tournament. The tournament culminates in a single championship game to crown the annual League Champion among NISA member teams.
